ITINERARY
DAY 1
You will be met by your guide at Mwanza airport and transferred by road to Little Okavango camp. Like the famous Okavango Delta, this area is divided by narrow water channels full of tall Papyrus grasses which feed down to the expanse of Lake Victoria. The driving will take you about 2 hours passing through the unusual city of Mwanza which sits on Lake Victoria and nicknamed the “Rock City”, due to its huge boulders scattered across the wider landscape.
Little Okavango Camp is a stone’s throw from the western gate of Serengeti. After lunch and settling in, head out on a gentle canoe ride on the waterways around Victoria Island, and out onto the lake itself. This is a lovely gentle introduction to Tanzania. In the evening, relax by the campfire before dinner beneath the stars. (Breakfast, lunch & dinner.)
DAY 2
After breakfast, head out for a full day’s game drive in Serengeti National Park. Focusing on the area around the Grumeti River, where year round game viewing is excellent. You can expect to see a great diversity of large mammals in significant numbers. Lion, elephant, buffalo, zebra, giraffe are common, and leopard and cheetah are regularly sighted.
Each year starting in May through June into July the western part of Serengeti is home to thousands of migrating wildebeest, on their annual journey back north from the South East. This adds spectacularly to the already fabulous wildlife experience. Return to the camp in the late afternoon, relax and enjoy the evening birdsong before dinner. (Breakfast, lunch & dinner.)

(Brunch & dinner.)
